Beyond the Frame Support
Keep the photo on the front and the memory beyond the frame on the back. Beyond the Frame turns each memory into a Polaroid-style card you can flip over to revisit the story behind the image.
This page describes version 1.1. Availability of the update depends on App Store review and rollout.

Newly imported photos are center-cropped to a square and stored as JPEGs up to 1400×1400 pixels. Larger files are recompressed within a quality-preserving range. The original photo in your Photos library is not modified. Version 1.1 allows up to 7 saved photo cards for free. A one-time Full Access in-app purchase removes the card-count limit. Practical capacity still depends on available device and iCloud storage and other system constraints.
iCloud Storage & Sync
Card photos, titles, stories, and dates are stored on the user's device and synchronized through the user's own iCloud private database. The app does not use a public database or shared database for this content.
- Automatic sync works across supported devices signed in to the same Apple Account with iCloud enabled for the app.
- Sync timing is managed by iOS/iPadOS and iCloud, so changes may not appear on every device immediately.
- Cards created while offline remain on the device and are uploaded after connectivity returns.
- Deleting a card in the app also synchronizes that deletion to iCloud and other devices using the same Apple Account.
- iCloud sync is not a versioned backup. Data that has not yet been uploaded may be unrecoverable if the device is erased, lost, or fails.
- TKLab does not operate a server or admin console for viewing this private content and does not access individual photos, stories, or other card data stored in a user's private database.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How does pricing work?
Version 1.1 includes up to 7 saved cards for free. Full Access is a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks unlimited cards; it is not a subscription. Check the localized price displayed in the app before purchasing.
Q. I already had the earlier version. Must I pay again?
No. Previous paid-app customers retain unlimited access without an additional purchase. Users who obtain the earlier version during the transition also retain this access.
Q. How do I restore Full Access?
Use the Apple Account used for the purchase, then open Settings > Purchase > Restore Purchase. Restore Purchase is also available on the Full Access screen. Contact support if access is not restored.
Q. What are the text limits?
Japanese: 12 characters for the title and 70 characters for the story. English: 20 characters for the title and 120 characters for the story. Stories are limited to 12 lines in either language. If the text contains Japanese characters, the Japanese limit is applied.
Q. Can I save a card without a title?
Yes. The title is optional. The back story must contain content other than only spaces or line breaks.
Q. Can I edit a card after saving it?
Yes. You can edit the title, story and date. Saved photos cannot be replaced. Cards can also be exported as images or deleted.
Q. Are my photos or stories sent to TKLab?
No content is sent to a TKLab-operated server. It is stored on your device and in your own iCloud private database. TKLab does not access the individual content stored there.
Q. Can I see my cards on another iPhone or iPad?
Yes, on supported devices using the same Apple Account with iCloud enabled for the app. Synchronization may take time depending on connectivity and iCloud status.
Q. Will my cards return after reinstalling the app?
Cards that were successfully uploaded to iCloud may synchronize again after reinstalling with the same Apple Account and iCloud environment. Data that was still only on the device cannot be restored. If you delete a card inside the app, that deletion is also synchronized.
Q. What happens when iCloud is unavailable?
The app can save cards on the device when iCloud is signed out or temporarily unavailable. To use iCloud sync, enable iCloud for the app in Settings.
Q. Why does the app use Photos or Camera access?
These permissions are used only to select an existing photo or take a new one. Camera permission is requested for taking photos; photo selection uses the system photo-picker mechanisms provided by iOS/iPadOS.
Q. Does the app track me or use third-party analytics?
The app does not use advertising tracking and does not include an external analytics SDK operated by TKLab.
Q. Do I need a TKLab account?
No. iCloud synchronization uses the Apple Account and iCloud settings already configured on your device.
Q. How can I contact support?
Email tklab.support.contact@gmail.com.
